Update on my step dad

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for praying for my step dad. He went to Tampa last week to a cancer research center to have some more tests ran. Come to find out it, he now has stage 3 colon cancer and it has reached one of his lymph nodes. They did another scan to search the rest of his body and the test came back negative, which is awesome! He went home Friday and will begin radiation in the next few days which will last about 5 weeks then he will have surgery to remove the tumor. I know without a doubt that he will be cancer free and live a long healthy life to fulfill Gods purpose for his life but please continue to pray and agree with me:)

Love you all,
Rebecca

Please Pray

My step dad just called me and said that he has to have surgery this Wednesday, Oct. 21 to get a polyp removed that could be cancerous. In size it is 3in wide and 4in long. That's pretty big for a polyp. He had a biopsy done to see if it were cancerous and it came back negative but the doctor said "If there were 100 doctors standing in this room, they would all say you had colon cancer because the biopsy only scans the surface." They said he needed to get it removed as soon as possible so they could do further tests.
Will you stand with me and agree in the name of Jesus that he does NOT have cancer and will have a smooth recovery after his surgery?

Thank you so much and be blessed!
Rebecca

Little Thoughts

Here are some thoughts that run through my head while sitting in the prayer room. If you could agree with me on these things in prayer that would be GREAT :)

  • It's time for the church/body of Christ to wake up and glorify the Son of God for who He truly is.
  • It's not time to sit on the outside looking in. It's time to jump in the middle and be apart of what God is wanting to do in this generation!
  • Every tongue in Planned Parenthood WILL confess Your beautiful name and WILL turn to You.
  • I pray that we would become more and more hungry for God and His thoughts and less interested in what  the world thinks about us.
That's it for now! Thanks guys!

Charlie Bit Me

This never gets old!

The Beginning

Wow, I haven't written in a while. I have been pretty busy these past couple months with moving to a new state and starting a new chapter of my life. You know, the usual:) I am now in Fredericksburg, Va and I LOVE it here. I am living with the Lockett's & working full time for Bound4LIFE as a fully funded missionary which was a complete blessing from God. I was told that I would need a certain amount per month to live here so I asked my home church, Christian Heritage, if they could support me fully. They ended up getting more than enough people to stand with me! I was absolutely blown away and will be forever grateful.

Here's an update of what I'm actually doing up here:
I am working as a coordinator for the Houston Project. For those who are not aware of what that is, Planned Parenthood is building a 6 story facility in Houston, TX which will be the 2nd largest in the world and their 3rd floor will be used for only for medical procedures and abortions. They will be targeting African American and Hispanic communities and college campuses. We are planning pro life rallies starting in Jan 2010 to bring awareness and get more people involved with praying for the ending of abortion. Right now we are in the midst of scheduling dates, meetings and just gathering as many contacts as we can. It's quite exciting if you ask me!
My days usually start with a devotional set at the Prayer Furnace then office work from about 10:30-5:00 then we have weekends off. The Lockett's are amazing and I absolutely love being a part of their family:)

Well that's enough for now! Love and miss you all!

Day 7

Hey everyone! It's been a few days but I haven't forgot about you! I'm sitting here listening to Clayton play guitar as I reflect on the past few days. Friday was our first rumble. It was awesome to be in Gods presence with other lovers of God. We mainly prayed for the senate, Sonia Sotomayor and the heath care bill. Saturday are short days here at JHOP. We had a devo set from 10-11:30 then went to the wall to seige until 1 then we were free to do what we wanted. Yoosung and I went with Cathy, Marcus & Nicole to one of Cathys friends apartment to lay out by the pool. So thats what we did most of the day. We ate dinner in the food court of the Pentagon City Mall which is one of the biggest malls I've seen. I definitely will be going back to shop! lol. We hung out with some of Cathys friends for a while then headed back home. Today I decided to go to church with Alexia (another intern) to a catholic church so we called a cab to come pick us up but once he got here and we were not outside, he left us. So rude. Haha. So we went with Yoosung and Clayton to Capital Hill Baptist church. It was an interesting expierence to say the least. When you are used to going to a charismatic church, going to a straight up ordley to the T baptist church is a lot different. The message was good though:) After church we all came home for lunch and have been having personal time since. Alexia and I went down to a small vintage shop where I found a cute shirt and some classy earrings. Now we are all just relaxing until our big day tomorrow. Mondays are usually are busiest days. We have two different classes both taught by Matt plus the prayer seige and devo & intercession sets. Until another day!
Blessings,
Rebecca:)

Day 2 & 3

Hi all! Yesterday was pretty busy to say the least so that's why I'm combining two days into one. Yesterday we continued with testimonies and had a few teachings. We also stood at the Supreme Court as we do everyday. It was very hot. lol. Later on we had dinner. It was YooSungs turn to help prepare. Him & Nicole made pineapple chicken curry. It was made with chicken, pinapple, onions, green peas and coconut milk. For everyone who knows me personally, you know how picky I am when it comes to food. Well you would be proud of me because I ate it and did not complain. Of course I picked the onions and pinapple out but the rest was really good. Just thought I would share that. Haha. The rest of the night was full of fellowship then sleep.

This morning started a little late for me. The past two mornings I have gotten up early to take a shower & eat breakfast but this morning I was so tired and didn't get up until 8:20, when our meeting start at 9. I got ready pretty quick though. After our quick meeting we went down to the prayer room to have an hour of personal devo time, which is personal devotion time with the Lord. After that we had another hour of intercession. We specifically prayed for all who are on the Senate Judiciary Committee that will be interviewing Sonia Sotomayor. It was very intense. I prayed for the first time out loud! That is a very big deal for me. I was very proud of myself:) After our intercession set we got ready to go to the wall. We stood for an hour and a half. While standing I felt as if God was telling me to close my eyes and keep them closed until He said otherwise. So I obeyed and went into a time of intimate fellowship with my Father. It was sweet and personal. After about 45mins I decided to open my eyes and watch the people. I felt like I was to pray for the hearts of all the people who have walked and are walking up the Supreme Court steps. People walk up and down those steps everyday and most of them have no clue on what goes on inside that building. I pray that God would start speaking to the hearts of this nation and that they would begin to truely listen. After the seige we came back to the condo to have lunch then went to the Library of Congress to get a library card. It was pretty exciting. lol. We have a rumble tonight which is where a few of us get to together and have corporate intercession. Pray for us that God will speak to us the issues He wants us to specifically pray for tonight.
Until another day,
Rebecca:)

Day 1

To begin with, the people involved in the internship are Matt Lockett and his family, Marcus & Kathy Harris, Nicole, Clayton, Alexia, Yoosung & Luke. The first five are staff and the other three are the other interns.

Today we began our day by eating breakfast together in the dinning room. What a
sweet time it was to get to know one another. The plan was to give and talk about
our testimonies, so Matt (the head over bound for life) started us off. If you have ever met him, you know once he starts it's hard for him to stop, not that it's a bad thing, haha. He spoke for awhile just giving us background of his life. Let me tell you, it was amazing to hear the stories that he has. Then when he finished, Kathy (one of
the staff members of JHOP) begin to give her testimony. By the time she finished
it was time to head to the wall to seige. For you who do not know what seiging is,
it is when we go to the Supreme Court and stand in silent prayer for the the ending
of abortion in our nation while wearing red tape that says LIFE on it. It is very intense
to say the least. We stood for about an hour and prayed. We then came back to have lunch and fellowship. After lunch we sat and had our first actual teaching on
the 7 mountains of influence over the earth.
1. Government
2. Family
3. Entertainment/Art
4. Education
5. Business
6. Religion
7. Media
While here in DC our main purpose to to pray over our government. Our prayers have great impact whether we can see it right away or not. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." This scripture is very important to our time. Well that was the gist of my day. Hopefully I will keep this updated on a regular basis.

To all I know & love,
Rebecca:)
